The Bicycle Donations Program

The Bicycle Donations Program is designed to support families and children throughout the year with new and refurbished bicycles. Applications are taken and reviewed for monthly donations. The program also supports Senior Citizens, Mentally Challenged persons, and to supply transportation to those working and in need of support.

At the end of each year, the “Annual Christmas Bicycle Giveaway” donates hundreds of bicycles to families who would otherwise not be able to purchase one. This giveaway not only supports Cumberland County, but 6 surrounding counties. These counties include Hoke, Harnett, Robeson, Scotland, Bladen and Lee.

Frequently asked questions:

Q: How do I apply to receive a bicycle?
A: The parent or guardian of the child must apply at the school the child attends. The school Social Worker at that school is the only individual who will accept the application and process it to determine eligibility for the program.

Q: What is the age limit?
A: The child must be 14 years older or younger to be eligible.

Q: How many bicycles can I apply for?
A: There is a limit of two (2) bicycles per family.

Q: Is there a fee?
A: There is no fee. However, we do ask for donations to help support the program.
